The ASG2014’s Initiative of Community Participation through sports kicked off on 14th September 2014.
Special focus: To promote sports amongst women and kids within the Sikh community in WA
Initiatives: Yoga, Zumba, cultural and traditional sports of Punjab, Gidda, and Kid’s March past, Netball for Senior and sub-juniors
Yoga was inaugurated by SAWA president Sh Harbhjan Singh in the presence of members and executives of SAWA, the ASG2014 organising committee, and other volunteers. A notable achievement of this initiative is that yoga has already attracted about 40 women including the about ten women aged 65- 83 years and some children under 15 years of age. The yoga volunteers paid special tribute to these motivated senior and junior women participants.
