ANSSACC in consultation with kabaddi clubs have made a number of changes to the kabaddi structure and rules in an effort to improve kabaddi at the Australian Sikh Games and to grow junior participation in the sport. Summary of changes agreed by all ANSSACC registered Kabaddi clubs is below:

1. Standardised playing field layout, with designated areas for players and officials
2. Restrictions on entry into playing field will apply, only players and officials will be allowed on the field. All officials will be required to wear official vests:

• Teams - 12 players per team - 2 emergencies outside playing area, 1 Team Manager per team, 1 Team Trainer per team

• Referees -1 Central Line Referee, 2 Referees, 2 Linemen

• Officials – Timer Official and Official Scorers

• 2 Commentators, 2 Official Photographers

• Minimum 2 security guard for group and Minimum 4 security guards for Semi and Final, Police presence for semi and final

3. Standardised draws
4. Increase in team size from 12 to 14 (2 players allowed as emergencies in case of injury)
5. Team Composition - Player Eligibility

• 10 players must be selected from their home region and must meet regional residency rules

• 4 Players can be selected from anywhere in Australia (must meet Australian residency rule) or 2 International players out the 4 can be picked (no visa/residential conditions will apply for these 2 players)

6. Junior Development

• All kabaddi clubs will be required to field a junior team 1 out of every 3 year in order to continue to compete at the Sikh Games Senior Kabaddi tournament

• This requirement will be in effect from the 2021 Sikh Games

• Under 16 and Under 20 have been selected as age groups
