About the Coffs Coast

Woolgoolga

Woolgoolga is a town situation about 15 minutes drive north of Coffs Harbour. It is home to a significant Sikh population who arrived in the area as early as the 1890’s. Woolgoolga is also home to ywo gurduwaras, including the first Sikh Gurduwara built in Australia, and the more recent gurduwara overlooking the hill on the way into the town.


By Plane

Coffs Harbour Airport is one of the largest regional airports in Australian with regular flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Services include:

  • QantasLink: 5 flights to and from Sydney per day on weekdays.
    3 flights from Sydney on Saturdays with 4 return. 

    5 flights from Sydney on Sundays with 4 return.

  • Virgin Australia: 2 flights to and from Sydney per day.
    1 flight to and from Melbourne per day on weekends.
  • Tigerair: 2 flights to and from Sydney per day on weekdays.
    1 flight to and from Sydney on Saturdays and Sundays.

By Car

Coffs Harbour is about 6.5 hours drive from Sydney and about 5 hours drive from Brisbane, including time for breaks. Much work has been done to the Pacific Highway making for a more enjoyable drive. Whenever driving long distances, driver fatigue should be avoided by sharing the driving and taking rest breaks every 2 hours.


By Bus

Busses arrive in Coffs Harbour regularly at the Bus Depot located on the the Pacific Highway and can offer a convenient, budget way of getting here. Most bus companies located on the east coast of Australia have a regular service to Coffs Harbour.


By Train

There is a train station located in Coffs Harbour with daily services to and from Sydney and Brisbane (with stopovers in between). For fare and timetable information visit the NSW Government’s Countrylink web site.
